About Us
Hi!
Ginger and Jen are the mother/daughter duo behind this fantastic blog. Ginger is the mastermind behind the recipes and Jen is the tech/photographer/catch-all girl.
Ginger has been gathering these recipes throughout her life. The sources are all over the place (as recipes typically are). The main ones are traditional family recipes (these are typically listed as "Old Nag" recipes) and from our good family friend John *. John was a master chef in Vegas for several years before settling in Southern Utah where he opened a restaurant called the Dameron Valley Ranch House. There, John and Ginger were able to exchange countless recipes. John and his wife Carol have since passed away but Ginger does her best to keep their memory alive through the recipes he shared with her. Some recipes have been found online (hence the reason we're not monetizing this blog). Where possible, links have been provided to the original source. However, some of the recipes have been in the family just too long and the original sources have long been forgotten.
*disclaimer on John's recipes: they were restaurant size recipes, so be sure to reduce them - unless you want gallons of dressing, of course!
Jen will also add a few recipes of her own just because family members have requested them. After being gifted a family recipe book by her mother-in-law, Jen decided it was time to get Ginger recording her recipes, too. She should have known it would turn into a massive project! The next goal is to record Ginger making several of these recipes so that generations to come will be able to learn from Nana as well.
Thanks for checking out our blog! Hopefully you find some new favorite recipes to create traditions with your family!
