Bread Pudding

Bread pudding
Custard recipe
Diced dried bread
½ cup raisins
Ground nutmeg
Put the bread in a baking dish. Sprinkle with raisins. Make up a custard mixture and pour into an 8 X 11 X 2 (2 quart) baking dish over the bread. Place that baking dish into a larger dish like a 9 X 13 X 2 inch baking dish. Fill the lower dish with water to the same level as the pudding. It is best to have water under the top baking dish. This is called the water bath baking method. Dust top with curb nutmeg.bake as directed in the custard pie recipe. Serve chilled with a dollop of whipping cream.
Rice pudding
Make the same as the bread pudding, but substitute bread with 3 cups of rice. Bake the same way. Serve chilled.
NOTE:
Dried bread can be used for bread pudding.
You can boil raisins in water for 10 minutes to soften.
