Creole Chocolate Cake

Creole chocolate cake
3 squares baking chocolate
½ cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 egg
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
Dash of cinnamon
Melt the baking chocolate, and add ½ cup sugar and the milk. Cook on top of a double boiler till well blended; remove from the heat and add 1 well-beaten egg. Stir well and cool slightly. Cream butter and 1 cup sugar; add 3 eggs, beaten well, and then the chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add the flour sifted with the baking powder and cinnamon. Beat well. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost cake with creole icing.
