Fluffy White Frosting

1 cup sugar
⅓ cup water
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
Dash salt
2 egg white
1 teaspoon vanilla
In a 2 quart saucepan combine sugar, water, cream of tartar, and salt. Bring to a boil until sugar dissolves.. Very slowly pour sugar syrup into unbeaten egg whites in a mixer bowl, beating constantly with an electric mixer for about 7 minutes or till stiff peaks form. Add vanilla; beat till combined. Frosts top and sides of two 8 or 9 inch layers, or 10 inch tube cake.
