Lemon Tea Cookies

Lemon tea cookies
2 teaspoons lemon juice
½ cup milk
1¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup butter
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Lemon glaze
Stir 2 teaspoon lemon juice into milk; set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, soda and ¼ teaspoon salt. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg and lemon peel; beat well. Add dry ingredients and milk mixture alternately to the beaten mixture, beating well after each addition. Drop from a teaspoon2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12 to 14 minutes. Remove at once to a wire rack; brush lemon glaze over top. Makes 48
Lemon glaze
Stir together ¾ cup sugar and ¼ cup lemon juice.
NOTE
I use silicone or parchment instead of greasing the cookie sheet.
