Shrimp cocktail
4 cups water
1 tablespoon salt
1½ pounds fresh shelled shrimp
¾ cup chili sauce
¼ cup lemon juice
2 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash bottled hot pepper sauce
Lettuce
Lemon wedges
In a saucepan bring water and salt to boiling. Add shrimp; return to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 3 minutes or till shrimp turn pink. Drain; cover and chill.
Stir together chili sauce, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire, and bottled hot pepper sauce. Chill.
To serve, pour chilled sauce into a small lettuce lined bowl set in a larger bowl of ice. Arrange chilled shrimp around the edge or larger bowl; garnish with lemon wedges. Makes 8 to 10 appetizer servings
