Waffles

Waffles
2 cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon flour
4 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
2 cups milk
¼ cup shortening or butter
Preheat waffle iron. Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a large bowl. Beat eggs until foamy; blend in milk; add shortening. Add liquid ingredients into flour mixture; beat with rotary beater until smooth. Pour batter onto the center of waffle iron. Batter should spread to within 1 inch of the edge. Bake until steaming stops and the waffle is golden brown. Loosen edge with fork; remove from iron. Serve hot with butter, syrup, confectioner sugar, or ice cream. Makes about 8 waffles.
